THE SYSTEMIC-DYNAMIC-TRANSDIMENSIONAL (SDT) APPROACH
PARENTS CONSULTING PROJECT
The following text corresponds to our Communication Nº 12 from the Parents Consulting Project: “The Teachers for Peace Program , The Parents Consulting Project, Guided Teens”, a Communication we sent to Argentine schools.
• We live in a culture of insecurity and violence. We are constantly confronted with specific events that do not allow us to live our lives with serenity, security, and peace. Several times in only one day, a news of violence shakes us to the very foundation of our personal lives.
• We know that this way daily life is becoming more difficult. And we know that, should we continue this way, this situation will only get worse. How will be, then, the country we are leaving to our children?
• There seems to be no governmental policies showing a cultural course, with principles and values we could follow. Something must be done, someone must do something.
• Individual and social insecurity require the urgent attention of very different social actors. Among the numerous simultaneously essential approaches (political, economical, legal, police, medical, psychological, social approaches) one is education. And therefore it is essential that those who educate, teachers and parents, are to be trained.
• We have seen at length: The hard approach and the soft approach simply do not work. What is needed are ready hands that are honorable, tender and firm at the same time. Violent people who using violence claim to quench violence, neither the enlightened, the messianic, nor the powerful in their turns have helped us. It is time for us to help ourselves, all together, to begin to put behind us this waste and stagnation.
• Concrete actions are needed. These actions can be learned. We can use educational tools, learning strategies that make it possible to educate (ourselves) for Peace.
In 1996, The Holism Foundation for Education, Health, and Social Action launched its
Teachers for Peace Program for prevention, detection, containment, and change away from violence for communities and educational institutions. It is intended to train non-violence teachers and concretely organize and coordinate the Program at educational institutions. For 13 years help has been given in constructing a Culture of Security and Peace through education,
informing and training all possible educators: from kindergarden to university, regular and special education, professionals, administrators, authorities, parents and other family members, teenagers, students…
In 2004, the Parents Consulting Project was added with the objective of improving the quality of life for parents and children through specific activities at educational institutions, in the belief that a
Contextual Pedagogy is needed, that is, family and the environment have to participate in education.
To adapt ourselves to the reality of institutions, we offer to schools and groups of schools:
1. An informative presentation (2 hours).
2. A Workshop (3 - 4 hours);
3. A Working Day (8 hours);
4. The Training Course for Non-Violence Teachers (40 hours);
and talks and workshops for parents at school.
We invite organizations of any type to participate: Media, educational, cultural, municipal institutions, NGOs…
We invite you to join up. The Working Day and the Training Course are offered all along the country and abroad in applying institutions.
Should your institution be interested in organizing these events, please write to
From 2008, the Non-Violence School Plan was started for At-Risk Schools Without Resources. It is intended to bring together the efforts of sponsoring companies for the purpose of working with schools in need.
And this 2009 we added the
Guided Teens Plan, which consists of
talks and workshops to adolescents in their schools.
Let’s do something for ourselves and those who come. Let’s act now. We wait to hear from you.
