THE SYSTEMIC-DYNAMIC-TRANSDIMENSIONAL (SDT) APPROACH

TEACHERS FOR PEACE PROGRAM

Consulting and training in
- Non-Violence School
- Conflict Resolution,
- Inclusion

SINCE 1996, A PROGRAM FOR
VIOLENCE

PREVENTION,
DETECTION,
CONTAINMENT, AND
CHANGE

FOR COMMUNITIES AND
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Designed to:

1. Provide training for teachers in non-violence and
2. Provide the practical implementation of the program in educational institutions

We live in an environment characterized by insecurity, fear, and violence. Violence, and above all explicit violence, increases daily: Family violence, gender-based violence, social violence, violence in the media, professional, economic, political, legal, educational violence. Violence as seen at home, on the streets, at work, in social meetings, in health and educational institutions, in business, in politics. Violence that goes from a contempt gesture up to mistreatment, abuse, rape, and murder.

Violence generates both individual and collective insecurity. A vicious cycle is created in which each one feeds the other. The culture of insecurity, violence and fear cannot offer another future than more of the same. There are no options: This kind of culture cannot provide a secure, calm and peaceful future. It cannot improve the quality of life nor can it can assure an enjoyable life, either for ourselves or for our children. It cannot restore lost values.

Individual as well as social insecurity require an urgent response by very different social actors. Among many simultaneous indispensable approaches, one way of working is in education. And for that it is essential that teachers are being trained.

It is in this way that we have been working since 1996, providing information and training for administrators and teaching personnel.

General objetives:

• To aid in the transformation from a culture of insecurity, violence, and fear to a Culture of Peace

• To cooperate in achieving a consensus with respect to universal principles and essential values for living in a better way

• To develop a consciousness of the importance of education in preventing, detecting, containing, and modifying the circumstances of aggression and violence in community, home, and school

• To contribute to a future with security, tranquility, and peace.

Specific objetives:

• To provide concrete tools for prevention, detection, support, and modification of aggression and violence

• Through educational institutions, to generate a consciousness in parents and to give parents tools for improving family interactions

• To generate a multiplier effect through the education of trainers.
